The rules of the road for using OpenVLAN. Last updated: August 2026.
These terms govern your use of the OpenVLAN platform, including the website, control plane, clients, and API. By creating a tailnet you accept them.
You're responsible for activity under your account and for keeping credentials secure. You must provide accurate information and be old enough to form a binding contract where you live.
Your data stays yours. We claim no ownership of traffic carried over your tailnet. You grant us only the limited processing needed to operate the service, as described in the Privacy Policy.
We target high availability but don't promise perfection on free plans. Paid plans carry the SLA stated in their agreement. Critical coordination functions are designed to degrade gracefully — existing connections survive control-plane outages.
Paid plans bill per user as published on the pricing page. Fees are prepaid, non-refundable except where law requires, and may change with 30 days' notice.
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms, with notice where practical. On closure, your data is handled per the retention schedule in the Privacy Policy.
The service is provided "as is" except for express SLA commitments. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability is limited to the fees you paid in the preceding 12 months.
We'll post material changes here and notify admins by email at least 30 days before they take effect.
